Bits and Pieces
Good Ol' Texas
"Went down the highway
Broke the limit, we hit the town
Went through to Texas,
And we had some fun" - Thunderstruck, AC/DC
remember concerts in Dallas, remember the woman with the pistol on Sixth street in Austin, remember the sister bars in Killeen-one country, one biker, remember dreams of the band, toes in the sand, skinny dipping with the ladies in the swollen Lake Belton, and me, waking up in the front seat of the CJ5 with a sad country song dancing in my head, remember cutting the rattler's head off and frying up the meat over the fire, diving in the river and just missing the water moccasin, taking the Jeep to the top of the hills, roaring bon fires, a spread of beer cans, the two old guys who took us out on their trot line and me kissing the big Buffalo Head fish, the old van and picking me up at the town with the Civil War cemetery, loud ass music, especially Kiss, Pink Floyd and Van Halen, the knife game, jumping off the dead trees and dropping 50 feet into the lake, flying down the tank trail in the Bronco at 2 in the morning because a convoy of tanks was right on our ass, my birthday and the bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 and I could go on and on, but if you remember any of this; hey, give me a shout. Let's talk Texas, and the good old days. Maybe I'll put a few stories on the site.
